KFT-990 Radio Controller

KFT990 is a radio controller application tailored around the YAESU FT990 HF transceiver. It was written to satisfy my requirements after failing to find suitable software that was free of charge and compatible with the NetBSD operating system. KFT990 should also work well with the YAESU FT1000 HF transceiver as it shares many common features with the YAESU FT990 except dual band mode.

The current version sports the following features:

  • Control over VFO Frequencies
  • Control over clarifier offset frequency
  • Control over memory channel selection
  • Control over operating mode selection
  • Control over antenna tuner
  • S-Meter indication in receive mode
  • Meter indication depending on meter selection in transmit mode
Outstanding features to be finalized
  • Preference management
  • Memory channel management
  • Implementation of a script mode
  • Frequency entry via key-pad (Keyboard)
  • WARC band management
  • RTTY, PKT an CW offset corrections according to dip switch settings
  • Implementation of keyboard short cuts
  • Implementation of dimmer command
  • Implementation of TCP interface
  • Add help menu
  • Create user documentation

There is still plenty of work ahead before KFT990 can be considered to be useful to the general public. A snapshot of the current design can be seen here here
